- What I was doing when the application crashed:

nothing. Kwin crashes after upgrade to Kubuntu 12.04.
First, it worked ~2 days normally, then crashed and never starts correctly again. Crashes after each try of start.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

The backtrace shows a segfault in QStringBuilder, invoked by plasma (invoked by the desktop chaning OSD) so either there's a memory corruption, or a problem quite deep down.

Do all crashtraces look the same?
