Description Damian Kaczmarek 2012-10-29 01:47:12 UTC
Please see this short video of how it looks: http://dragon.rushbase.net/~rush/kde-jumping-tray.avi

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have similiar setup to mine .. presumably?
2. Have no audio playing and start playing audio - which triggers the sound volume icon, which triggers the layout jumping ..
3. Stay calm. :)
Actual Results:
Icons jumping like crazy.

Expected Results:
Icons not jumping like crazy.

What is interesting is that the bug is triggered by audio even though the sound volume is set to be visible all the time. As system tray is a very important part of the environment I consider this a major problem.

If anybody is experiencing this issue, a workaround is to use Veromix plasmoid and killing Kmix altogether. Veromix is such a great volume control app which I can fully recommend.

I have looked at your video and i had the same issue and solved it in the same way with the Veromix plasmoid. But i saw, that you're using Clementine too and i had the problems only, since i have switched to Clementine. I thought, it has something to do with the Clementine notifications or replay gain settings, but different settings (with/no replay gain, with/no notifications) doesn't resolve the problems, except with the Clementine-OSD notification, the icon jumping/flickering is not so hard.
