Description Anders Lund 2012-10-24 19:59:01 UTC
I would very much like to use the calendar krunner to add events and todos, but specifying my owncloud resource for inserting events aind tasks does not work. Events show up in "birthdays and anniversarys" resource or somewhere else random.

Sorry if this should be filed somewhere else, but where?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select your owncloud calendar in the calendar krunner settings
2. have some other writeble resources
3. enter an evnet or task in krunner ("event test;today" for example)

Actual Results:
event is added to birthdays & anniversories resource (or an other calendar)

Expected Results:
event is added to selected owncloud calendar

Confirmed, but I doubt that the dav resource is to blame for this one, or if that's the case I'll need some feedback from the KRunner devs.

Re-assigning to KRunner.

I think actually that this can have to do with the resource, on my system it is often given a new akonadi id, which may cause trouble. The krunner is buggy though, it may insert events into the "birthdays" resource, for example, due to its fallback if it does not find the requested resource. It has quite a few problems built into it.

I don't know how KRunner does its magic internally, that's why I re-assigned in the first place: to get some more information about the possible issue from the people in the know :) If there's a problem with the resource I'll happily look into it with the new information.

The plugin has very limited functionality, and there is no easy way to fix it afaics, i did have a look at the code but fixing it is not trivial.

With Plasma 5, the Akonadi integration isn't ready, and given that Akonadi is being re-written the runners will also need significant work.

Resolving this bug as LATER.
