When running dolphin and selecting Network->Samba Shares it will NOT list all available files that exist in a Windows machine. For example in Windows machine existed 131 files and dolphin only lists 26 files, its a big difference. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Already explained Actual Results: Already explained Expected Results: Dolphin should list all available files when using 'Samba Shares' in a windows machine.
Finally theres a solution to this serious problem, using SMB4K it will list all files and not just some.
Thanks for the bug report, but I'm afraid that you have to provide more information. I don't have access to any Samba shares myself, but here are some questions that might help to find out something about this bug: 1. Does it happen in all directories on the Windows machine? 2. If that is not the case, could you try to generate a minimal folder in which the problem can be reproduced? Just to find out if there is a particular pattern - maybe it also helps to put such a folder in an archive and attach it here. Thanks for your help.
For what i have seen it only happens in dirs that have much files. I really cant determine a pattern, to say from which number of files that happens, but its not just files, is there are also sub-directories, it also happens to not list all ones.
Created attachment 74876 [details] Image showing files missing when using dolphin on Samba shares Here in these 2 view panels you can see the in the right panel (where is mounted a samba share from the windows 7 machine) there are several dirs and files missing comparing to the left panel that has all the dirs and files (that were transfered using SMB4K).
Thanks for the update. I'm reassigning to the smb kioslave in the hope that someone with any Samba knowledge reads this.
This was a bug in Samba itself that has since been fixed.
