In digikam 2.9.0 I click the Persons tab, Scan Collections For Faces, Delete Results And Search Again. It appears as if that has no effect at all. Digikam tells me there is "no active process" on the lower right, but it is accessing the disk and using the CPU, so it must be doing something. Other UI issues I noticed: * Digikam added a new tag under "Family". (why there?) * This tag is empty when I look in the tags tab, but in the persons tab it shows a bunch of faces. (why not in both?) * Digikam shows my tag groups "Family" and "Friends", but not another one which should also contain persons. (there appears to be no way to tell digikam which tags contains persons - setting the icon to the person icon alone is not enough, it seems) Reproducible: Always
Another one: * While digikam is still searching for faces, it is impossible to tag already found faces. (1) The list of faces jumps around randomly, marking thumbnails/pictures I did not click on, jumping back to them whenever I scroll to another place. (2) Also when I manage to click in the textbox where I shall enter the name, digikam moves the focus to some other place, leaving the half-typed text in there. There is no time to select a suggestion from the drop-down box. Whenever I click into the textbox again, to continue typing, I am quickly thrown out again.
> Other UI issues I noticed: > * Digikam added a new tag under "Family". (why there?) Default is "People". As we cannot know which hierarchy users prefer, it will guess: Assume there is the currently only face tag under Family, the default location for a newly created one, without your telling to place it in a different place, will be there. > * This tag is empty when I look in the tags tab, but in the persons tab it > shows a bunch of faces. (why not in both?) Maybe vice versa? In the faces tab, you'll see those tags which were assigned a face. In the tabs tab, you'll see all tags. > * Digikam shows my tag groups "Family" and "Friends", but not another one > which should also contain persons. (there appears to be no way to tell > digikam which tags contains persons - setting the icon to the person icon > alone is not enough, it seems) as above
