+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #171368 +++ Version: 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1) (using 4.1.1 (KDE 4.1.1), Kubuntu packages) Compiler: gcc OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.24-16-generic Quite often, konqueror displays a message about having detected a cyclic link. That would be fine if it was the actual case, but other browsers such as firefox or konqueror from KDE 3 show those pages fine. Example URL: http://www.bikedreams.dk/shop/saet+diverse-222c1.html
when opening : "https://docs.google.com/" I get the following error message: The requested operation could not be completed Cyclic Link Detected Details of the Request: URL: https://drive.google.com/# Protocol: https Date and Time: Sunday 14 October 2012 11:00 Additional Information: https://drive.google.com/DocAction?action=unsupported_browser# Description: UNIX environments are commonly able to link a file or folder to a separate name and/or location. KDE detected a link or series of links that results in an infinite loop - i.e. the file was (perhaps in a roundabout way) linked to itself. Possible Solutions: Delete one part of the loop in order that it does not cause an infinite loop, and try again. Contact your appropriate computer support system, whether the system administrator, or technical support group for further assistance. ---------- This link opens properly with Google Chrome and Firefox 16.0.1
All of those links open just fine for me using Konqueror with either one of the browser engines. Though I am using kdelibs 4.10 branch, I do not see any differences between the two branches that would account for this bug. Before proclaiming this is a distro specific issue, I want to see if someone on a completely different distro with KDE 4.9.2 can reproduce this issue.
I'ts been a long time since I experienced this problem, and I do not have problems with the two links in this report either.

ArchLinux x86_64. I notice that docs.google.com redirects to drive.google.com. I would guess this fools the cyclic test.
So today I tried it, got the google login, then got this: The requested operation could not be completed Cyclic Link Detected Details of the Request: URL: https://drive.google.com/DocAction?action=unsupported_browser# Protocol: https Date and Time: Tuesday 16 October 2012 16:56 Additional Information: https://drive.google.com/DocAction?action=unsupported_browser# Description: UNIX environments are commonly able to link a file or folder to a separate name and/or location. There must be something else at play here because I use ArchLinux x86_64 as well and I cannot reproduce this using the distro supplied packages. I never get the aforementioned error message for either one of those links. Which browser engine are you using ? khtml or webkit ? > So today I tried it, got the google login, then got this: > > The requested operation could not be completed > Cyclic Link Detected > > Details of the Request: > URL: https://drive.google.com/DocAction?action=unsupported_browser# > Protocol: https > Date and Time: Tuesday 16 October 2012 16:56 > Additional Information: > https://drive.google.com/DocAction?action=unsupported_browser# > Description: > UNIX environments are commonly able to link a file or folder to a separate > name and/or location.
