- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Kate crashed as I typed the third letter that would begin the search for autocomplete. I think I saw the  suggestion box flash just before it crashed, but I can't be sure. It may be irrelevent, but I did have upwards of 60 files open in the session and luckily I had saved everything only a minute before the crash.
