The Galaxy Nexus is set to mtp. Plugging it into the computer lets the user open it with dolphin. In the breadcrumb bar I see camera. Does this make sense since it's set to mtp and not ptp? The fie view shows Samsung Galaxy Nexus…as folder. That folder contains the folder store_00010001 and the files about.txt and summary.txt. Trying to open the files results in an error message, that the file does not exist. The folder is shown as empty. .xsession-errors shows: dolphin(1032)/kio (KIOJob) KIO::TransferJob::slotData: mimeType() not emitted when sending first data!; job URL = KUrl("camera:/Samsung%2520Galaxy%2520Nexus%252FGalaxy%2520S%2520i9000%252Fi9250,%2520Android%25204.0%2520updates@usb:002,004/about.txt") data size = 277 kded(378) Mollet::KioSlaveNotifier::onDirectoryLeft: "camera:/Samsung%2520Galaxy%2520Nexus%252FGalaxy%2520S%2520i9000%252Fi9250,%2520Android%25204.0%2520updates@usb:002,004/about.txt" kded(378) Mollet::KioSlaveNotifier::onDirectoryEntered: "file:///home/rabauke" dolphin(1032) KSambaSharePrivate::testparmParamValue: We got some errors while running testparm "Load smb config files from /etc/samba/smb.conf Loaded services file OK. ERROR: pid directory /var/run/samba does not exist Changing the Nexus to PTP does not make much difference since dolphin/the kio fails with the same error. Reproducible: Always
Sven: Is this still an issue for you with a recent version? (With a similar device it is working fine for me as of kamera v18.07.90 and libmtp 1.1.14, so if this is still an issue it's likely hardware specific.)
