When using Text Selection mode (Ctrl-4), there is no context menu. Steps to reproduce: 1) Ctrl-4 2) Don't select any text! 3) Right-click anywhere - nothing happens Expected result: Context menu appears, allowing to add a bookmark etc. NOTE: This is particularly bad for unexperienced users in the following scenario: 1) Ctrl-4 2) Toggle Full Screen (Ctrl-Shift-F) 3) Right-click -> nothing happens. In other modes (except for Zoom mode, but that is an other issue as there right-click is used for zooming out) a context menu appears which offers you to end Full Screen mode. This is especially important as none of the usual shortkeys to leave full screen mode (F11, Esc) work. Also, the other "modes" (Ctrl-[1-5]) can only be invoked throught keyboard shortcuts, as there is no GUI for changing them present in full screen mode. I found myself being locked into full screen mode this way - for unexperienced users, this might pose quite a challenge. Thank you for all your work on Okular, it rocks for scientific reading! PS: Maybe a visible GUI element (like a semi-transparent button in the right bottom corner fading in when you toggle full screen mode; or, more traditionally, an additional button in the bar at the bottom) would be a user-friendlier way to end fullscreen mode. This goes beyond the scope of this bug report, however.
This is not a bug, this is the behaviour, the text selection tool is for text selection, the main features in the browse tool.
What you actually want is https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=306886 BTW Thanks for using okular and for giving feedback :-)
I considered it a bug since this works in all other modes (except for zoom). In particular, it also works with selection, which provides almost identical functionality. However, Bug 306886 sounds even better to me. :) What do you think about providing an easier to discover an (always visual) element to end fullscreen mode - should I file a bug report about it or is it not going to happen anyway? Thank you for fast and nice response!
Yes, that'd be a different bug, to be honest i'm not sure of it's usefulness, but you can log it anyway, should not take much time and if enough people show up having the same idea it might make me change my mind ;-)
