double free, ie. memory corruption from QPainter inside the oxygen deco. together with the other observed behavior (random crashes; when the pointer stalls, thats a kernelspace problem, esp. if you cannot even ctrl+alt+f1 to switch to vt1) i suspect a physical problem (heat, inaccurately plugged RAM module) There's of course a chance of a bug in oxygen (iff you use oxygen-gtk and it shares relevant code with the oxygen decoration) but that would not explain an actually frozen system (can you still ssh into it) If you can reproducibly cause such crashes, run them through valgrind (there's no other way to determine a memory corruption) but first check your hardware. -> Passing to Hugo, but the actual trigger here would be Qt (and the cause could be anything)
