It is very inconvenient that after clicking on Start Page both Browse and View buttons are disabled. Current directory/file should be remembered and buttons should not be disabled.

Browse and View modes are only relevant to when a specific folder is visible. The Start Page doesn't have that; rather it provides ways to find a folder to start looking at.
