Description Igor 2012-09-12 11:25:13 UTC
When I get an incoming message, I see a pop-up notification. It displays the message and the sender's nickname. Please add such settings, so user could manually disable and enable the display text of message, nick, photo, time in the pop-up notification. Especially important is the ability to disable the display of text of the incoming message in the popup window, because it violates the privacy of communication. Strangers who are near the monitor can easily read it in pop-up notification

Reproducible: Always

You will need to justify each configuration option to me.

Why would you not want message, nick or photo?

I honestly can't see any rationale behind not wanting to know who sent a message. It seems quite important information.

I don't see the advantage of adding the time either, most notifications are acted upon immediately, and in the use case of you being away and missing the notification, you're not going to ignore it simply because it's old.

I'm not saying we won't add these, but you will need to convince me as to why.

A better fix imho is not to show the notifications when the user is "busy"

I'm probably not exactly expressed my opinion.
> Why would you not want message, nick or photo?
I want to see only nick, photo, but I do not want to see bordy, text in pop-up. For example:
John Johnson wrote to me: "Hi, how are you?"
And at this time I would like to see in my own pop-up window only: "John Johnson and photo". I do not want to see "Hi, how are you?" in pop-up. I will read it in a chat window, after seeing pop-up.
I do not want to see "Hi, how are you?" in pop-up, because it is a privet.

You are right.
