Description Yi Yang 2012-09-10 19:05:55 UTC
I cannot save lyrics with either the Lyrics Applet, or the Lyrics tab in the properties of a music.
I enabled MySQL's log functionality, and found that Amarok didn't even try to save/load lyrics to/from the database at all.
I wondered whether it's my Gentoo's problem. Therefore, I tried to run Amarok in a Ubuntu in a Virtualbox. Nothing changed, lyrics still cannot be saved.

Oh, need to mention that I listen to Magnatune and local MP3/OGGs. Lyric saving works for none of these.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Disable any lyric-fetching scripts.
2. Play a song, type some lyrics in the lyrics applet, save.
3. Play the very same song again.
Actual Results:
The lyrics applet display no lyrics.

Expected Results:
The lyrics applet should display the lyrics I just typed and saved.

Does this happen with tracks that are added to the 'Local Collection'?
I cannot reproduce it for tracks in the Local Collection. The lyrics are saved to database (on 2.8-git).
For tracks not in the Local Collection, the lyrics are not saved.

Oh, that is apparently an overlook, this is implemented at least since 2.7 IIRC.

Of course for tracks not in the collection the database is not used, as the database reflects the collection.
