Sometimes it happens, the application icon of some applications (pidgin, transmission - the best example) is displayed incorrectly, like on the screenshot. It happens since the time of OpenSUSE 11.4 (KDE 4.6 or 4.7 - I don't remember). And sometimes, when I reload this application for a few time, the icon displays normally. When the icon is displayed incorrectly, the top left corner (the quarter) is displayed only. Reproducible: Sometimes Steps to Reproduce: 1. Launch application (pidgin or transmission) 2. -- 3. --

I can't reproduce it here with Pidgin, using Plasma 4.9. Which Plasma version are you using? This smells a bit like a bug in those applications, btw.
Please set the version field, else the bug report is incomplete.
In the last version of KDE (4.9.1) this bug reveals for the first time. Early this bug revealed right each time I launch pidgin. Now I saw it yesterday for the first time and can't repeate again. :(
Thank you for the feedback.
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
