Description m.wege 2012-09-07 17:11:10 UTC
I want to suggest a simpler settings module for phonon: Currently the first setting which is shown is the device priorities. So there is no choice to make. The only choice there is at the moment to make is between webcams although I only have one cam There is the choice between /dev/video0 and the name of the device I have. I suggest to only show any device priority settings if there is more than one device detected by KDE.
Then I would suggest to make the "Configure Audio Hardware"-module first which is the one the user most likely will need.
Then there is the settings for backend which also is not needed if there is only one backend present. I would to suggest to hide this in the case of only one backend installed. Instead of that I would suggest to add a "Install another phonon backend"-button to the "Configure Audio Hardware" which allows to install other backends if the user wishes so. Then if there is more then one backend present, the phonon backend config-module would be shown again.

Reproducible: Always

This is too big a change. We'll look at it for Phonon5 redesign.
