Please consider adding the functionality of stroking the edge of a selection. Such function is vital for many tasks. The easiest example is to draw a 1px thick outframe around the picture. It should be capable to determine the thickness of the stroke and whether to place the stroke inside or outside of the selection, select between using pixel precise thickness or just the current brush to stroke. Reproducible: Always GIMP and Photoshop has such function, which is placed below the Fill Selection tools in the Edit menu.
Yes. that would be good to have. We never looked into it because we have the line, ellipse etc. tools, which gimp doesn't have. But it would still be useful.
WISHGROUP: Small Usability Fixes
Created attachment 100289 [details] Prototype I want to realise above functions. Attachment has prototype of interface(it will be changed a lot)
This has been added, and while there's more work being done on it, I think it's far enough to close this :)
New features will add later :)
Thank you everybody! Can't wait! :D
Can't find it. Please elaborate, where it is and how to use it?
https://docs.krita.org/Stroke_Selection
(In reply to wolthera from comment #8) > https://docs.krita.org/Stroke_Selection Well it's only for shapes, not any arbitrary selection? Menu entry also called 'Stroke selected shapes' not 'Stroke Selection' in Krita 3.0.1.1
Ok, so this hasn't been worked further on it, I am closing this.
(In reply to wolthera from comment #10) > Ok, so this hasn't been worked further on it, I am closing this. I'm quite sure in recent versions Krita has something new about this that at least satisfied my need. It's part of the improved context menu for Selection Tools. Thank you for everyone who worked on it!
