What download page is that?
Comment 2 Brandon Withem 2012-08-28 12:45:39 UTC
It has been reproducible wherever i am at a download site. Like the thank
you.. ur download will begin shortly... and when i close the browser then
reopen. It starts to download the same file again. So i press the back
button and it crashes.

Over my years of using linux. I have never liked usin konqueror because it
is not user friendly when it comes to download managing.

Do you have any specific setting to make all your tabs be restored when reopening Konqueror? Whenever I close it and open it again, I get an empty page here.
Comment 6 Brandon Withem 2012-08-28 13:28:59 UTC
It is stock. I juat clean install the os and start up konq to download what
i need to get my pc up and running but i encounter such issues with
everything at default. No change to any setting at all even the distro.

This issue is no longer an issue fot me as i have circumvented it and used
the yum cmd instead to manually add the repos and installed what i needed.
I do want to see this bug resolved though where it wont crash if i try to
backtrace my websitea from a download page

I'm still trying to reproduce this on my end. I'd appreciate it if you could perform the following test:
 - Launch Konqueror
 - Go to http://download.kde.org/stable/4.9.0/src/
 - Click the "ark-4.9.0.tar.xz" link
 - An embedded Ark instance should be shown in the tab that was showing the download page
 - Click the back button

Does it crash for you? If not, can you provide a similar list of steps from that page that can cause the crash for you?
Comment 9 Brandon Withem 2012-08-28 22:44:46 UTC
It dis not cause my program to crash. I figured out what was wrong. It is
while konqueror was trying to connect to the server to start downloading. I
thought the program had frozen it took too long to start downloading so i
forced it to close in the midst. And then reopen the program with the last
session and try to press the back button. Thats where it crashed. The only
recourse for that is to not restore the last session. Thats where i forgot
the exact procedure i did. The program is set to load the homepage not last
session.

Comment 10 Brandon Withem 2012-08-28 22:49:30 UTC
I am not able to reproduce the problem now. I am able to cancel the
download now without issue. It was before i installed the ati driver fglrx
replacing radeon and updating the flash player along with installing chrome
and firefox via yum cmd instead. There may have been some things ive
installed to resolve driver issues/ or the lack of an updated flash player
related to the issue i had.

I reinstalled fedora on a separate partition using the same methods to see

Right. From your description and from the backtrace, it looks like a crash that could happen if you closed Ark (or, in this case, switched to another page in the tab) while an archive is still being loaded. I'm marking it as a duplicate of the bug tracking it, thanks.
