If a filter is added or modified, when the modification is applied (via the "Apply" or "Ok" dialog button), all the messages (already filtered) from the last time a filter modification where applied (say, 3 months) reappead in the Inbox as New messages, but without the body of the message. This lead (in my case) to some thousand of duplicated messages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a filter 2. work normally for some time (weeks, months) 3. create a new filter or modify an existing one Actual Results: A duplication of all the message received (and already filtered) reappead as new in the Inbox, without the body message Expected Results: At least that nothing happen, and no message should be touched. The problem exist in the 4.7.x series, I am not sure in the 4.8.x since i not remember id I had modified or added a filter, and it exist in 4.9.0
What kind of account is your inbox on? IMAP (online or disconnected mode)? Maildir? What kind of database is akonadi using (mysql/posgres/sqlite - check with "akonadiconsole", Server->Configure Server, don't change the type here though!). I did modify my filers *a lot* of times, without running into this bug. Try to also run "akonadictl fsck" from a terminal, maybe there are some
I use Maildir with internal Mysql Server. Running "akonadictl fsck" in a terminal does not output anything. I try to modify my filters and now (akonadi 1.8.1 and kdepim 4.9.2 on Archlinux) all the message from the last time I modified the filters keep reappearing (and then refiltered) in the inbox endlessy until I kill kmail
This bug has only been reported for versions older than KDEPIM 4.14 (at most akonadi-1.3). Can anyone tell if this bug still present? If noone confirms this bug for a recent version of akonadi (part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
