Description andrewmyles 2012-08-14 13:08:51 UTC
When I'm trying to resize any internal part of Kile, like pdf preview, the Kile freezes. The cursor changes to the "resize" form, but the whole system suddenly freezes! Hitting Ctr+Alt+Del solves the situation, but unfortunately I cannot resize internal segments of Kile.
Reopening file/ creating new file does not solve the situation.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open Kile. Open any document (empty as well)
2. Try resizing, say, right preview window or bottom log windows

Actual Results:
3. Cursor should change shape; windows should "freeze", i.e. you couldn't be able to click anything, not to mention resizing windows.
4. Ctr+alt+del should stop this nonsense; cursor reverts back to normal, and you still cannot resize windows

Expected Results:
Resize the window, duh.

I don't know if that might be the case... although it's open source so here it is: some time ago I reported that I cannot type polish diactrics, because shortcuts like Alt + o, or Al + a (that would produce polish letters) are cross-occupied by other functions, and that includes shortcuts that utilize other keys, like ctrl+alt+a. I had to manually (Thanks, Kile) remove these shortcuts, so I could type what *I* want. Maybe this might be the case>

I had this problem too, but it's a KDE problem (in all other programs it also happens)!

You can solve it this way:
- taskbar -> programs -> KDE Release -> Settings -> System Settings
- in the <Style> menu, select any other <Widget style> than "oxygen"
- now the resizing works
