I had queued up a bunch of files in Kget.

One day when I opened Kget, I found that the interface stopped responding. I cannot scroll down the list or click on any of the menu items. Kget ignores them completely.

However, Kget continues to download whatever is on my list. I can see that since I see my bandwidth being used up for downloads. When I kill Kget, i see the downloads stop.

Ok, it seems to still freeze the menus (but download activity continues) occasionally after reinstalling. However, simply killing and restarting it seems to help.

It always seems to do this "partial freeze" (of the menus but not the downloads) whenever I try to add a new download via "New Download".. however, if I use the drop target, it adds fine.

Same here. I add several downloads to kget via copy&paste and when multiple download start simultanously,
the UI freezes.

There are 2 ways to solve this issue (workaround!):

(A) Kill KGET and start again
=> sometimes it works... sometimes the UI freezes again

(B) Wait until all downloads are finished
=> The UI is responsive again

try to see whether removing finished downloads speeds up things.
