Screensaver diaporama does not skip raw photo files (like nikon nef files) and displays a tiny picture (the one small vignette embeded in the file), which is of no interest since it is so small. Diaporama is being too clever for its own sake. Maybe put an exclusion on raw files in the configuration True in mandriva 2011.0 and mandriva cooker How reproducible: All the time on these distros Steps to Reproduce: 1. Create a directory with 2 jpeg and 2 raw photo files (like nikon nef files) 2. Configure screensaver diaporama to that directory 3. Launch the screensaver with the test button Not tested with canon raw photo files Thanks Regards Reported Mandriva Bugzilla – Bug 62092 (in 2009 !)
the mandriva bug was https://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=62092 (previous link wrong) In another thread https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=126149 <<The tiny image from NEF is TIFF/EP thumbnail in fact loaded by QImage codec>> This thumbnail image loading should be disabled, and the raw file skipped / not displayed by the screensaver.
The screen locker architecture changed with Plasma 5. The classic screen savers are no longer supported. The 4.x series won't see any further feature development, so this bug report won't be implemented as it doesn't apply to our current version any more. I want to thank you for your bug report and for helping improving the quality of our software and I'm sorry that we were not able to provide a fix before we retired the affected component.
