Description Daniele E. Domenichelli 2012-08-08 21:25:19 UTC
contact list should allow multiple selection of contacts, in order to start a group chat, conference call, etc. with the selected contacts
Comment 1 David Edmundson 2012-08-08 21:54:26 UTC
This becomes non-trivial as you can select contacts from different accounts.
With the current limited system, you can't select contacts from a different account, and as such it will always work (or should).

If we implemented this we would end up with something that works sometimes but not others and I don't really like that.

I'm relegating it to "unconfirmed" until we have a plan. Can anyone think of a good solution?
Comment 2 Daniele E. Domenichelli 2012-08-08 22:13:37 UTC
We could start by allowing to select all the users you want and showing as enabled only the supported actions for that set of contacts.
Comment 3 David Edmundson 2013-03-23 01:29:15 UTC
Is this even possible?

Spec for createConferenceTextChat requires an initial channel.
Comment 4 David Edmundson 2013-11-13 10:17:59 UTC
Given no-one has replied to comment #3 I'm not sure it's possible.

It's not worth considering until ad-hoc group chats work 100% first anyway.
