Description Simon Andric 2012-08-07 03:22:29 UTC
plasma widget (plasmoid) aquarium has major memory problems (kde kubuntu quantal 12.10 project neon)

i installed beutiful aquarium plasmoid. and at first it looked nice. then i wanted to put all the values in preferences to the highest and after some time, the whole system went slow.. way slow...until about an hour later plasmoid diplayed "out of memory" message.
at the same time visually the bottom of aquarium became white stripe, and the top of awuarium became a yellow stripe, with no fish inside.
also if you resize aquarium to be too small, the fish start to swim out of the plasmoid,...on the desktop actually.

even if the values are set to normal it displays some other error, and the tank is then empty :(

toggle auto feed and auto buy - doesnt show when they are either ON or OFF... i think this setting should be moved to preferences...and visally equipt to show when they are on or off...

when the two errors appear again ill take screenshots and post them here... until then...

nice day!

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install aquarium
2. let it work a while
3. errors start to happen
Actual Results:
my computer ran out of memory and hanged... i could only do HARD (press the button) reset...

Expected Results:
aquarium works flawlessly

two more observations:

1.
when you "toggle" either auto buy or auto feed or both (either ON or OFF - coz it dont say), it freezes the desktop - if i click on any on the icons in the left side panel, or the kickof K logo button it doesnt visually "imprint" itself liek it would normally, when u "presse" it, but after 30 seconds - 2 minutes (depends how many processes are running) it starts the program anyway. coz the plasma panels are freezed the only way i can wsitch beteween programs is through alt+tab shortcut - clicking on the task manager portion of the panel doesnt swith between programs anymore - unitl i reset the computer.

also if during the time it is freezed i press crtl+alt+F1 and then back ctrl+alt+F7, the panels (bottome default one and left "empty" one dissapear, only blur stays... but after some time they both return - although still "unclickable" like before... at the ned i dotn have choice...i have ot reboot...

2.
if the aquarim is resized ... to be "too small" either horizontally or vertically (for example the shape im using on my desktop - is such), the fishes start to travl outside of the tank and back again.... it seems the "space" in which they are allowed to move wasnt accurately inputed...
its difficult to get a screenshot about this problem, becase the fishes are very small...and i have to be on watch to be lucky enough to catch it in that 1-2 seconds it appears out of the fish tank...

nice day!
