To make the 'information' panel easier and more useful, I'd suggest to show the 5 most used tags above the 'add tags' to more quickly add tags. Also, show an input box for comments so one can just start typing.

This is relevant for both the information panel and in the properties which you can conjure up with a right click on a file.
