Description Christian 2012-08-02 18:49:39 UTC
I try to create a group of contacts. The intuitive way to me is to highlight all the relevant contacts and then right-click and "Create group...". Then the contacts should be grouped into a group. (I.e. the group contains references to the contacts.)

However, (a) the above approach for creating a group does not work; instead it creates an empty group and unselects all my contacts. Worse, (b) when I manually add entries to the new group, I cannot reference my existing contacts. I have to enter names and email addresses manually into the group.

As a consequence, the group does not update its email address lists when I change the email address for one of my contacts (which happens to be in that group).

Reproducible: Always

This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kaddressbook (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
