Whenever I add a task using the text field below the main task view, I am asked which calendar I would like to store the task in. In my case, that does not make sense, because there is only one calendar that does support tasks. 

I would like to suggest that korganizer does not ask for calendars if there is only one possible answer.

KOrganizer 5.17.3 behaves as requested.
