There is no Kosovo on the drop-down-list of countries in Country/Region & Language configuration module. It is impossible to choose Kosovo as a country when Linux operating system with KDE is deployed in Kosovo. Kosovo has a currency, date format, number format different from United States. It is not easy for our staff to switch from one country setting to Kosovo when they are deployed to Kosovo. Please add Kosovo with Euro as a currency, date as day-month-year, and time as 24h time. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Country/Region & Language configuration module 2. 3. Actual Results: No Kosovo on the drop down list of countries Expected Results: To have Kosovo on the list.
I support this, it will not hurt kde to add kosovo into the country list.
I can confirm Kosovo is still missing in KDE SC 4.8.97.
While I am sympathetic, KDE has a strict policy in this regard of only implementing support for countries that have a) been recognised by the UN or b) had a Country Code issues by the ISO. This prevents KDE from becoming embroiled in political arguments. Until such time as an ISO code is issued we cannot technically implement support. However if you are indeed an organisation that is deploying systems to Kosovo it is easy enough to add your own locale file with the required default details. I can provide instructions if required.
John, please provide me with instructions to implement that locale file. We are in desperate need for a solution. Thanks!

John, I am trying to find a practical solution here. Since the kcm module is called "Country/Region & Language" if we consider Kosovo as a region would it still need an ISO code? Cause I wouldn't really care if Kosovo was called a country / region / territory or a landmark. All I need it to be able to use some name for it, Euro, times and dates, and phone numbers as in Kosovo format. UN actually does recognize Kosovo by the name of "UNMIK". But ISO has not assigned a code yet. Otherwise, I recommend renaming the "country" tab into "ISO Countries" and adding an extra tab for "other countries/regions/territories". Anyway, if you like the idea I don't know, but I bet there are other NGO's in Kosovo having the same problem. Actually just the ones trying to deploy Linux. Microsoft has a tool where you can add any country to the system and associate it with kind of language, time/date etc.
