does not want to connect no matter what I do 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create account
2. Name: Freenode
3. Address: irc.freenode.net
4. username: ktplogger
5. ok
Actual Results:  
authentication failed

Expected Results:  
connection

I also tried with my actual account and password, still no dice.

Thanks for the report, you probably miss telepathy-idle. Nevertheless we decided at Akademy that we'll be dropping IRC support, because we have other priorities and there are plenty of good IRC clients. Should we have more resources, we'll make it work, but for the time being (and upcoming release), we won't. We might reconsider it at Akademy 2013.

Martin, we need to add the code to ban it in the KCM for 0.5. Do you want to do that as a separate bug?
