Description Bernd Oliver Sünderhauf 2012-07-12 15:01:04 UTC
When I start adding a new account via the config dialog, the new account is immediately registered with Akonadi, though no account information has been given.
In the meantime, Akonadi throws an error:
"Resource IMAP-Konto 4 is broken. This resource is now offline"
In case I cancel the dialog at a later point, the straw account is removed again, but the counter is increased by 1 per attempt, so next time it's going to be #5 etc. even if never ever an account has been created.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
While both aspects might not be a major problem, it's just a bit disturbing. Actually it would be nicer if the account is only registered with Akonadi as soon as the config dialog has successfully validated the account data entered.

This bug has only been reported for versions older than KDEPIM 4.14 (at most akonadi-1.3). Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a recent version of akonadi (part of KDE Applications 15.08 or later), it gets closed in about three months.

Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
