when using digiKam 2.6 in albumview, the number of picturs within one folder willbe shown correctly. when dealing with a upper hierarchical level , digiKam shoul sum up all the numbers of all pictures "below", especially all subfolders. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. active in configuration to show number of pics within a (sub-)folder 2. just use album view 3. see the number "zero", whereas the number should be the sum of all (sub-) folders Actual Results: looks like a systematic mistake Expected Results: the "upper" level of folders should sum up all pics of lower foilder/pics

Count give local folder items if treeview is expanded. In case of treeview is reduced, you will see all items, in recursive mode... Gilles Caulier
Gilles: Thanks for answer. The number does not change when closing/opening a (sub-)folder(s). Is this behaviour logically correct, as the number contained is _indifferent_ to "opening-status" ? I would always expect the _sum_ of all pic within a hierarchical level. no matter folder is opend or not. You may want to ask other people.
