Description illumilore 2012-06-26 19:49:00 UTC
When using dolphin to connect to an smb server, I get an authorization dialog that asks my username and pass. Since my username on the server has recently changed, I enter in the new username makine sure remember password is checked, and then I log in and do whatever, but after a reboot, when I try to connect to the server again, the question comes back, but it still has the old username in the box. It doesn't seem to want to use my updated username.

Are you indeed using the KSectetsService storage? It had been moved back to playground because of several issues, and until it is ready, it is suggested to use KWallet.
Comment 2 illumilore 2012-06-27 01:58:46 UTC
My mistake, I had just selected the component that had keyring in the description
Comment 3 Valentin Rusu 2013-09-02 21:00:39 UTC
This is not a kwallet-related problem, in my opinion.
Comment 4 Frank Reininghaus 2013-09-02 21:12:46 UTC
Not Dolphin-related either.
Comment 5 Frank Reininghaus 2013-09-02 21:13:20 UTC
Oops, kio/smb might be more accurate.

Does this still happen with more modern versions of all relates software (KDE Plasma 5, KDE Frameworks, KWallet, KIO, libsmbclient, etc)?

Never seen this with Frameworks 5. My username and password are remembered just fine for password-protected SMB shares. Calling it fixed in the absence of new information from the bug submitter.
