In the toolbar, for 'Open Recent', it is 'Click to open a file Click and hold to open a recent file', should there not be a separate toolbar button for 'Open' so that clicking 'Open Recent' will open a dropdown list of recently opened files (opposed to clicking and holding)? Reproducible: Always
Pressing the 'Open Recent' toolbar icon opens the 'Open' dialog. Instead of holding the 'Open Recent' toolbar icon to open the list of recent documents, can it be that pressing the 'Open Recent' toolbar icon opens the list of recent documents, and holding it opens the 'Open' dialog?
That'd be a good solution, i need to think about it.
Git commit 02b04e7e9bcbe4ce045b1be55948d1c37ec5284d by Albert Astals Cid. Committed on 21/08/2012 at 00:35. Pushed by aacid into branch 'master'. Make the openRecent just be open recent Stop being too smart for own our good, try to merge open and openRecent actions in just one action confuses the hell out of people, so let's KISS and just make open recent be open recent Related: bug 251335 FIXED-IN: 4.10.0 M +6 -2 shell/shell.cpp M +1 -0 shell/shell.h http://commits.kde.org/okular/02b04e7e9bcbe4ce045b1be55948d1c37ec5284d
I think, this is a regression. I always loved the functionality of the combined open/open recent button. Maybe it is possible, to provide a combined toolbar button optionally?
It is possible, if you can provide a patch it may make it for 4.12. I'd prefer if you opened a new bug and found other people that agreed with you to vote on that bug. We have lots of users with their "this feature is crucial for me" wish, and voting on bugs/features helps us decide in which we can focus our manpower
Ok, sorry if this was the wrong place to post. Opened wishlist bug #323225.
