Description m.wege 2012-06-18 09:29:17 UTC
It is not possible to create/use an account using pidgin-skype in KDE telepathy anymore. I am not sure, if this is related to the release of 0.4 and/or the Skype 4.0 version for Linux since both nearly happened at the same time. It worked with 0.3 and with Skype 2.0 and pidgin-skype works perfectly with pidgin itself and Skype 4.0.
As the previously existing installation in the KDE telepathy framework stopped working, I deleted the account and attempted to create a new one. This fails, there is no way to enter the skype account name. The "extended" area in the account creation section of "Step 2" is also empty. When trying to finish it says "Failed to create account
Possibly not all required fields are valid". This possibly has something to do with the fact that it was not possible to input in any settings.
If there is not any imeadiate fix, I would appreciate any info on possible workaround, like manually creating the config-info.
