Description Ernie 2012-06-18 03:08:15 UTC
Application: akonadi_nepomuk_feeder (4.8)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.3 (4.8.3)
Qt Version: 4.8.1
Operating System: Linux 3.2.0-25-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Normal use, 1 chromium window and 1 term window open, surfing web
- Unusual behavior I noticed:
Dolphin takes 10+ mins to open. First get the icon in task manager saying " - Dolphin" but no icon, and bouncing Dolphin icon next to cursor for 30 seconds, then both disappear. I continue about my business surfing the web, then 10-20mins later, a Dolphin window will open up. If i click Dolphin more than once (try to open it say N times), I'll eventually (at least 10 mins later) get N Dolphin windows that open 1 at a time, even though I haven't tried to open Dolphin again since the Nth try, many minutes ago. Once Dolphin is open, I operates quickly and properly as expected. I do have 7 SFTP stored folders on the side bar (below home, network, root, trash, xxGB hard drive) which have been there for month or so since I installed KUbuntu 12.04, and never had a problem then. This has been happening for almost a week now.

Also, knetattach failed to start error upon every login to KUbuntu 12.04. Regular "nepomuk feeder" errors/crashes pop up during a session of using the computer also. Can't find any error logs with any of those words in them (using grep).

Every "sudo apt-get upgrade" now ends with:
ldconfig deferred processing now taking place
/sbin/ldconfig.real: /usr/lib/libbrcolm2.so.1 is not a symbolic link

/sbin/ldconfig.real: /usr/lib/libbrscandec2.so.1 is not a symbolic link
although I'm not sure how long that's been happening (at least a week) and if it overlapped when things worked fine.

The crash can be reproduced some of the time.

Comment 2 Vishesh Handa 2013-08-17 11:29:26 UTC
This seems like it is an issue with the system cache (ksyscoca) not getting updated properly and therefore the Nepomuk feeder could not find the required plugin.

Marking this as FIXED as this probably happened during an upgrade. If you're still encountering this problem then please run `kbuildsycoca4 --noincremental`
