Description fanisatt 2012-06-15 17:03:24 UTC
Typing Alt-Shift I can change the keyboard layout from Greek to English and vice-versa.
When I use the Greek Layout in most applications I can type greek special characters but not in kwrite.
The difference is the key ";". If you press this key in Greek layout it's normal to see NOTHING into the screen because, after this key, if you press a greek vowel, then the writter types it accented or else unaccented.
I noticed the problem in Sabayon 9 KDE x86_64 (kernel 3.4.0). I also use Fedora 16 KDE x86_64 but , kwrite works ok there.
Iam not sure that it is a kwrite problem , it may be a KDE problem or something else.
Openoffice and leafpad in sabayon are ok with this. I can type greek words without this problem.
Thanks a lot.

Reproducible: Always

I also noticed this problem in knotes. (Sabayon).

KNotes doesn't use kate part, this seems more to be some generic X11 issue (or Qt issue).
Please report your problem there, can't help you guys :/
