Description Marcelo Sales 2012-06-14 19:12:29 UTC
Some messages have their subjects displayed in the message list panel with garbage where there should be accented characters. However, in the message view panel, the same messages have their subject displayed correctly. Also, if the message is opened in a separate window, its subject is displayed correctly both in the window title and inside de message window.
Only in the message list panel the subject is displayed incorrectly.
See attached images.

Reproducible: Sometimes

This is the second highlighted message in the first image. The subject is displayed incorrectly in the message list panel, as seen in the first image, but is displayed correctly when the message is opened in a separate window.

Yes known bug.
Comment 4 Denis Kurz 2016-09-24 17:57:28 UTC
This bug has only been reported for versions before 4.14, which have been unsupported for at least two years now. Can anyone tell if this bug still present?

If noone confirms this bug for a Framework-based version of kmail2 (version 5.0 or later, as part of KDE Applications 15.12 or later), it gets closed in about three months.
Comment 5 Denis Kurz 2017-01-07 22:17:33 UTC
Just as announced in my last comment, I close this bug. If you encounter it again in a recent version (at least 5.0 aka 15.08), please open a new one unless it already exists. Thank you for all your input.
