On Kubuntu 12.04 KDE 4.8.3 - clicking on "hide dashbord" that shows up as a part of dashboard on top of the desktop doesn't exit dashboard view. I need to use Esc to exit dashboard view. Reproducible: Always Actual Results: Nothing. No reaction. Expected Results: A click on "hide dashboard" should exit dashboard view.
doesn't seem to be reproducible does it happen to somebody else?
It is strange because on one account it works on the other it doesn't. Clicking on the red icon with cross doesn't work. Are there any settings, config files that I can check, or reset?
Looks like my report is a duplication of: Bug 288087 - dashboard will not close with mouse if overlying auto hide panel https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288087 It works on account where I don't have upper panel but it doesn't work on account where I have upper panel.
One more thing, there is a brainstorm idea: Exit dashboard with the "Show the Plasma Dashboard" button http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=102018 This might be helpful feature. And it would be very natural way to hide dashboard, as show desktop icon and minimizing open applications works in the same way, so user already have some customs.
I can confirm this bug is still reproducible in 4.10.4, but only when panel is at the top edge of the screen in auto-hide mode and the dashboard is in "show desktop" mode. Other scenarios look like working as expected. so this bug is a duplicate of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288087
bug still present in 4.11 beta 2. can't exit dashboard if clicking on red "close" button (that needs to be restyled) if panel is put on top of the screen and set to autohide. doesn't matter if dashboard is in "show desktop" or "show an independet widget set" mode. so, please, mark it as CONFIRMED
Hello! This bug report was filed for KDE Plasma 4, which reached end-of-support status in August 2015. KDE Plasma 5's desktop shell has been almost completely rewritten for better performance and usability, so it is likely that this bug is already resolved in Plasma 5. Accordingly, we hope you understand why we must close this bug report. If the issue described here is still present in KDE Plasma 5.12 or later, please feel free to open a new ticket in the "plasmashell" product after reading https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/Bug_Reporting If you would like to get involved in KDE's bug triaging effort so that future mass bug closes like this are less likely, please read https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved#Bug_Triaging Thanks for your understanding!
