Description Stuart Brightwell 2012-06-13 21:53:56 UTC
Application: systemsettings (1.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.8.4 (4.8.4)
Qt Version: 4.8.2
Operating System: Linux 3.4.0-1.fc17.x86_64 x86_64
Distribution: "Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle)"

-- Information about the crash:
I am getting a crash when pressing TEST on kde systemsettings in the Phonon Device Preferences tab, yet I can hear audio when I use the TEST function on the Audio Hardware Setup tab.

If I use root however all is fine.

Possibly related is that I also get a segfault when attempting to start Amarok, yet it works from root.

Problem has existed since preupgrade from Fedora 15. Have tried removing phonondevicesrc in my kde/share/config folder. Not sure what else to try, I gather some sort of permission problem?

The crash can be reproduced every time.

-- Backtrace:

Ok, well I deleted (moved) my ~./gstreamer-0.10 folder which forced a recreation of the folder & registry, and this solved the issue. For some reason the old folder had both an x86_64 and a i386 registry file.

Very happy!!

I've changed this to 'resolved' - hope that is the correct thing to do?? :)

Changing resolution so the filters work
