The KGet Piechart plasma widget is broken at its default size, i.e. parts of the content overlap the widget boundaries. Reproducible: Always Expected Results: Widget should work at its default size and should also be user-resizable. When making the widget resizable, don't forget to define a minimum size, so that it can't be scaled down arbitrarily.
I would say this is a blocker for the next release. If it remains open for much longer i will try to fix it. Though I've never touched this part of KDE yet so i prefer someone more knowledgeable to take this up.
Just tested this on KDE 4.8.3 and it's also severely broken.
I suggest complete removal of this plasmoid in 4.10 until the issues are finally fixed. This plasmoid is not resizable, its appearance is completely broken and it always jumps back into its initial position on the desktop when another widget is added.
This widget is obviously unmaintained. Please remove it in 4.10.
The applet is still there in 4.10. Reassigning to plasma, in kget nobody seems to take any action at all.
reassigning to kget - plasmoid is part of kget, not of Plasma
Why is this plasmoid still shipped with KDE? It's completely broken and obviously unmaintained. Nobody has done anything about this report for a year now, neither the KGet devs, nor the Plasma devs. Both KGet plasmoids should finally be removed.
Well, I have the plan to port it to QML at least, but as always too few time to do it. Lukas
That's a good idea, but I still think KDE shouldn't ship with software that is know to be completely broken. And since no one else has raged about these plasmoids not being usable for (more than) one year I must infer from that nobody is using them anyway, so they can also be removed until there is a decent QML replacement.
I just pushed a fix for 4.11 for this... Please report if it works for you! Lukas
