I noticed that kde 4.9 was quicker to start up, load items, and generally uses less resources than previous versions. What gives? We shouldn't have this kind of stuff going on. People have gotten used to slow load times and cpu usage of 50% or more when using kwins desktops effects. Whats this .09% or less load average crap about? Users don't need functional stuff that doesn't crash after 12 hours or more up. We need stuff that causes our systems to lock hard or send the cpu/gpu fans screaming at 10k or more rpm. And whats this 200meg ram usage thing now? I got used to seeing a gig or more being consumed by kde processes. This is just bullshit. Now seriously, Thank you for finally doing what appears to be a bug fix release. Its a very pleasant change : ) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.log in 2.load a program 3.watch the results Actual Results: Stuff works Expected Results: slow loading and high resource usage
Thank you for taking part in the KDE 4.9 beta testing initiative. For more information, see http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-4.9-beta1.php I can confirm the serious performance regression you are seing, but found no developer willing to fix it. As such, let me close this bug as WONTFIX. If you find more bugs, please report them separately.
