- What I was doing when the application crashed: I was opening the touchpad settings in KDE 4.8.3, and the application repetedly crashes when doing so before the window loads.

- Custom settings of the application:
I am running Kubuntu 12.04 with the Xorg Edgers PPA installed, which provides a newer Xorg server and newer synaptic drivers. It did not crash before this update, and now it does, so I assume it is due to this upsate.
