Description Axel Krebs 2012-06-03 07:32:59 UTC
It looks like a serious number of my jpg pics got wrong orientation.
Most of these, I have to turn manually 90deg to the left, only few of all 90deg to the right.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. unexpected observation.
2.
3.
Actual Results:
tag seem to change unintentionally - if so, metadata are not "stable"

Expected Results:
metadata (if assumption holds true) should be stored "rock solid".

why is it _not_ possible, to add an attachment exactly here?

for my judgement, this is a crucial issue.

Definitively not reproducible on my computer. Sound like a problem with your Exiv2 library with get orientation tag with your Nikon D60...

Dear Gilles,

Thank you for proofing- unfortunately, I _do_ see these pics- which were
_definitely_ correct, when loading from my Digital camera.

Whenever I take pictures, I watch them just minutes after storing on my PC.

Something went wrong with these information relating to pic orientation.
For whatever reason.

Sorry. Do you have other explanations?
Do you want samples?

Axel

Update Exiv2 and libkexiv2 library. Also, update digiKam to last 2.6.0 and try again.

Not reproducible using digiKAm 7.3.0 + Exiv2 0.27.3
