Description Andrea Bacchetto 2012-05-23 13:22:12 UTC
I wanted to enter a special character into a document but it is not possible to do this operation.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1) Launch Calligra Words
2) Create any document
3) Try to add a special character --> No character is shown in the table
Actual Results:
No special character could be inserted

Expected Results:
A table full of special characters should appear

The functionality normally works in Linux OpenSuse 12.1
By trying to search some character in the search query, the program crashes!

Actually it'sa problem with kcharselect on windows. transfering
Comment 2 Christoph Feck 2012-05-23 18:51:59 UTC
KCharSelect needs a data file, which contains the characters with the descriptions. It is possible that this file is not installed correctly. Could you check, if your system has a file named "kcharselect-data"?
Comment 3 Christoph Feck 2012-05-23 19:04:20 UTC
For the crash, I reported bug 300521, so it really looks like the data file is not installed, or not found. Adding kde-windows maintainers to check.

If you can provide the information requested in comment #2, please add it.

I am not sure where I should look for this file you mentioned. I am testing the downloaded version for Windows

I'm creating a new windows build tree atm, and I'll check. I'll also ask Stuart.
Comment 7 Stuart Dickson 2012-10-23 14:30:21 UTC
Fixed the packaging so that kcharselect information is now included.

The latest Calligra Suite installer (2.5.3.6) features this fix, it may be downloaded from: http://heap.kogmbh.net/srv/w3/heap.kogmbh.net/downloads/calligra_windows/calligra_2.5.3.6.msi (sh1: 4384a6e8b4a188a69f8dcba2a47d022c2072f9de)
