I removed rekonq and installed firefox. After that, when following a link within a program (for example one of the present in "Help->about KDE"), I get the error message "Could not find the program 'rekonq' ". Some software crashes instead of showing an error, for example the bug reporting tool (ironic :-P). I fixed it by making a script named rekonq that passes the arguments to firefox, and putting it in /usr/local/bin, but i think it can be frustrating to unexperienced users. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Remove rekonq 2. Install another web browser 3. Follow a link within a program, for example the ones present in "help->about KDE" Actual Results: Depending on the software: crashes, or the message "Could not find the program 'rekonq'" is shown. Expected Results: Opening any of the web browsers installed
It sounds like you have set rekonq as your default browser but later removed rekonq without setting firefox as your default browser. So bang.....
rekonq is the default browser, I never set thet option. However, yes, I changed the default browser to ffox and the problem is solved (I feel so stupid...). But, please note that some apps crash instead of showing an error if the user does not change the default browser. Let me try to reproduce it, i'll keep you posted. Thanks for the answer
