Very&very slowly works canvas from input pen-tablet "genius g-pen 450".
 Not possible for painting.

An other interface (button&menu) works slow but well.

For mouse all works very well.

Reproducible: Always

 Windows XP SP3
 Krita_2.4.7.5
 Genius G-Pen 450

Hm.... That sounds like the genius tablet might be sending many more events than wacom tablets. Do you have another tablet to test with?

(Btw, I'm impressed that something compiled on Win7 64 bits actually runs on XP)
Comment 2 Alexey 2012-05-19 22:24:19 UTC
Maybe I can do check on another model "Genius" in the coming days. But not Wacom.

 And more — 32bits XP!)))))

Sorry for delay.
I was able to test program on other tablet's model - WizardPen5x4, and there was no such lag, all worked fast enough.
But I have found other bug in this case. Painted picture is shifted right from cursor while drawing. And the closer you get to the right corner of screen, the bigger this shift. Here you can see link of example screenshot.

Note despite the fact that tablet's models are different, but they work the same way under each version of drivers!)))
i.e. WizardPen5х4 works with drivers of G-Pen450 and vice versa.
Comment 5 Halla Rempt 2012-06-03 13:21:14 UTC
Interesting! Especially about the drivers. The offset seems related to the cintiq bug on Windows - https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=298144 - which also suggests a driver problem.

Adesso tablets are also broken:

13:40:38 < ssbr__> hum, got the official Krita for windows via Calligra. It is slow. Like, I draw a line and it shows up
                   many seconds later.
13:41:01 < ssbr__> but only when I use my stylus, not my mouse (which is basically instant), apparently
13:41:37 < boud> ssbr__: apparently with some genius tablets and under some other circumstances that problem occurs
13:41:58 < ssbr__> tablet is an Adesso tablet

Hi, I'm ssbr__ from the chat log. Some more details:

- Tablet is an Adesso CyberTablet M14 (kooky name, I know, but it's nice.)
- OS is Windows 7 64 bits
- Unlike OP, I do not have problems with the input being shifted (sorry mate)
- Tablet definitely works fine in other environments (e.g. GIMP)

We need a fund raiser, I guess, to buy some non-wacom tablets & check how they work, both for Windows and Linux.
Comment 9 Halla Rempt 2013-03-20 07:44:03 UTC
I've been looking into the way Qt handles tablets and in the way tablet support is handled on Windows. I'm also taking a look at the way an app that doesn't use a toolkit supports tablets -- blender.

We managed to fix some issues with wacom tablets, but with non-wacom, there are still huge issues. One reason is that Windows sends tablets events at a certain rate, instead of only when needed -- and that can choke Krita quite easily!
Comment 10 Devin Jeanpierre 2013-03-21 05:16:26 UTC
As of krita 2.6.8.5 I can no longer reproduce this issue with my tablet.

Can you please check with the installers I linked to from this forum message:

?

Alexey, could you please check whether this bug is still present in the newer builds?

The latest one is:
http://www.valdyas.org/~boud/krita_x64_2.7.8.23.msi

It should be fixed now.

Okay, closing now. The tablet code has been completely rewritten :-)
