Are the files stored in utf-8? Then there might be the problem that you
don't have unicode-fonts installed. This problem is solved in 0.9.4 where
unicode fonts are only used when they are installed. Please try this version
then.
0.9.4 is only in KDE CVS at the moment because I didn't had the time to
package it yet. If you can not update your sources from CVS send me a mail
and I will make a package.

Greetings
   Matthias

I reported a similar problem, months ago, with Vietnamese on Mac OSX. I don't know if you remember it, Matthias. I investigated it, and apparently X11 on Mac OSX still has a problem with displaying UTF-8 characters. It's ridiculous, but true. Apple are apparently working on it. It makes Kbabel completely useless for me, because my language is nearly all accented characters, with combined diacritics.

I don't know how to nag Apple about this bug. I'd really like to do that. :(

If the above bug-report-person is using Linux, then this problem does not apply to them, I suppose. Have you heard any more about X11 on OSX and kbabel? I really want to be able to use your editor, and I can't. I know Apple haven't fixed it, because I try kbabel regularly in X11, to see. :(
