Description themroc 2012-05-14 06:32:28 UTC
After upgrade to Kubuntu 12.04 the sender's picture from the normal akonadi based address book are no longer displayed in kmail's decorative Email-header-view.

The x-face's, if include in an email, are still displayed!

Kubuntu amd64 12.04 with KDE 4.8.2: kmail displays no sender's picture!
Kubuntu amd64 12.04 with KDE 4.8.3 (kubuntu ppa): kmail displays no sender's picture, too!

nepomuk works for you ?
Comment 2 themroc 2012-05-16 10:32:13 UTC
How can I check it, if nepomuk works correct?

If I type nepomukserver in a terminal, I receive this answer:
"Nepomuk server already running."
Comment 3 Christophe Marin 2012-05-16 12:23:48 UTC
what does `ps x |grep nepomuk` return ?
Comment 4 themroc 2012-05-16 15:20:26 UTC
ps x |grep nepomuk return:

 1581 ? Sl 0:00 /usr/bin/nepomukserver

Note, I have this Problem on 3 workstations. The results are the same on these three workstations.
On 2 workstations I have newly installed Kubuntu 12.04. One workstation I have upgrade from 11.10 to 12.04.
Before the upgrade mostly sender's picture are shown in the decorative Email-header-view. Only the sender's picture composed by exchange mailer were not shown in 11.10 (see my comment here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284695#c11).

I can confirm that bug. On openSUSE 12.1 with KDE 4.7.2 it worked fine. After upgrade to KDE 4.8.4, the pictures stopped to show. I use Akonadi Google resources for my address books in KAddressBook (there I see contact face pictures). After downgrade back to 4.7.2 the pictures are not displayed. Nepomuk is working and seems to be fine.

Comment 6 Laurent Montel 2012-09-26 19:33:16 UTC
Work fine here.
Please update and make sure that contact is indexed.
Comment 7 Vojtěch Zeisek 2012-09-26 19:46:03 UTC
Now I use openSUSE 12.2 with KDE 4.9.1 and it does not work. Well, sometimes for few contacts yes, but generally not. I have all contacts in Akonadi Google and in KAddressbook I see them. How to ensure, that contacts are indexed? Nepomuk/strigi is running. It might be another bug. ;-)
Comment 8 Laurent Montel 2012-09-26 21:02:52 UTC
no just it's not indexed :)
In 4.9.2 there is a tool to look at what is indexed.
Comment 9 Vojtěch Zeisek 2012-09-26 21:07:07 UTC
OK, so how to fix that? ;-) I think I'm not only one trying to fix it ;-)
