Description K. A. Sayeed 2012-05-12 17:36:15 UTC
1. The time displayed in the details view of the Dolphin file browser displays the time only upto the minute.

2. It is important for legal and search purposes to be able to display the time to a much finer granularity.

3. Therefore, it should be capable of displaying the generalized time (year, month, day, hour, etc. since all of these also nothing but units of time) in a format that is customizable by the user to a resolution of milliseconds and includes the time zone.

4. For example, it is possible to display the time in the following format in Kmail:

4.1. yyyy MM dd hh mm ss zzz Z (for example, 2012 05 12 13 21 06 000 -0400) by using the custom format option in Kmail.

5. Similarly, it should also be possible to customize the generalized time (year, month, day, hour, etc.) displayed in Dolphin and other applications of KDE.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Please refer to the Kmail application (Settings -> Configure Kmail -> Appearance -> Message List) to find out the customizing capability for the generalized time.
Actual Results:
Not applicable

Expected Results:
1. A fully customizable generalized time format similar to one provided by the Kmail application of KDE PIM.

1. The time customization capability that is provided in Kmail is EXCELLENT and needs to be extended to all other KDE applications.
