Description K. A. Sayeed 2012-05-08 22:49:34 UTC
1. The "Apply" button that is used to commit information entered into the contact form in the Address Book of the Contacts module of KDE Kontact is missing.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on the "New Contact" button to open a contact form
2. Look at the bottom right hand corner of the contact form for the "Apply" button.
Actual Results:
1. The "Apply" button is missing.

Expected Results:
1. The "Apply" button should be visible in bottom right hand corner of the contact form.

1. This is a very useful function. It is missing in the current version of KDE Kontact. It enabled the saving of contact information entered into the Contact application of KDE Kontact without having to close the contact form in order to save the information already entered and then opening it again in order to enter more information.

2. The lack of the "Apply" button makes the creation of contacts in the address book extremely inefficient.

3. The said "Apply" button needs to be reinstated.
Comment 1 K. A. Sayeed 2013-02-05 21:08:55 UTC
1. It may be worth noting that the "Apply" button is available in Korganizer (Events, To Do, and Journal).

2. However, it was removed in the Kaddressbook after KDE version 4.3.2. If it continues to be available in Korganizer why was it removed from the contact entry form in Kaddressbook in versions after 4.3.2? This appears to be a regression.

3. The "Apply" button is useful for the following reasons:

3.1. It enables intermediate saving of data that has been entered into the contact form of the Kaddressbook without having to close the entry in order to save the data that has been already entered.

4. It will be a good idea to reinstate the "Apply" button in version 4.10.
