Update: The crash appears as soon as kmail tries to display a message. Any Idea what I can do about it?
Comment 2 Christophe Marin 2012-05-09 13:53:47 UTC

*** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 277705 ***
Comment 3 Marc Schiffbauer 2012-05-09 14:23:07 UTC
Hm I did not set something like described in bug 277705, at least I did not change the setting. But I cannot check the current setting as kmail will crash immediately after start.

Sure its a duplicate? Is there any workaround so I can use kmail again in any way?
Comment 4 Hussam Al-Tayeb 2012-05-27 14:07:33 UTC
This NOT a dubplicate of bug 277705
this is most likely caused by http://quickgit.kde.org/index.php?p=kdelibs.git&a=commit&h=e67ad90dba648e0c5192d34104aea700d8a745bc
Comment 5 Hussam Al-Tayeb 2012-05-27 14:13:04 UTC
Reverting to the 4.8.3 tag instead of KDE/4.8 branch fixes the crash. please reopen.
Comment 6 Hussam Al-Tayeb 2012-05-27 14:23:17 UTC
could be the changes to kdeui/widgets/kmessagewidget.cpp
I'm not a developer but this broke soon after the 4.8.3 release
Comment 7 Hussam Al-Tayeb 2012-06-20 09:42:21 UTC
This is a dup of bug 301453
